After earning his Ph.D. with the intent of entering academia, Jared's journey unexpectedly led to the corporate world of learning and development. His journey began at Samsung in 2009 where he initially took ownership of creating and facilitating their onboarding and technical training for their customer success division in Greenville, SC. Eventually, he built a team responsible for developing and implementing Samsung's training and knowledge content for groups around the world, covering product categories like mobile devices, PCs, home appliances, and TVs. Throughout his time at Samsung, Jared had the privilege to work closely alongside key partners like Netflix, Amazon, Google, and Microsoft to ensure product and support teams were aligned across all channels.
In 2016, Jared joined another tech company in a leadership role overseeing the organization's growing learning and development program. In this role, he partnered with companies like Apple, Samsung, Verizon, and AT&T to build industry-leading training and delivery programs for tens of thousands of employees around the world. During this time Jared became a certified executive coach and a skilled practitioner in helping employees navigate their own career journeys. Additionally, Jared and his team built and implemented an award-winning leadership development program designed to level up leaders across the enterprise, from newly promoted managers to C-Suite executives.
Why "Red Arrow?"
Jared explains: "The name comes from the Red Arrow Hwy in Southwestern Michigan, a road I've traveled with friends and family my whole life. The highway got its name in the early 1950s to honor World War II soldiers — the Red Arrow Division and 32nd Infantry. This quaint highway links the Chicago area, where I grew up, to the many sleepy beach towns and pristine beaches along the southeastern shores of Lake Michigan. For me, this road represents the freedom to explore and discover exciting new experiences, even if you get a little lost along the way.
I've always loved geography and maps, so I thought it was fitting to use the metaphor of a 'journey' as the framework to describe one's professional career. Using this motif, I could offer help to others traveling their own paths. Just like any journey, normally there isn't one, exclusively right path to follow. There are many routes we can each take, but they're often complicated by unexpected forks and turns, inconvenient detours, dangerous hazards, and necessary pit stops. And sometimes the quickest route isn't always the best one.
And that's true for your career, too. Regardless of where you're at on your journey, my goal is to help equip you with what you need to navigate your path successfully."
